I first met Bob when he worked for the mining operations of Fosroc while I was working on the construction side in the 1990's and was fortunate enough to work with him closely around the turn of the millennium. When our path's parted company he would still drop in for  chat at the BBA and BRE from time to time. I will remember him as both a loyal colleague and friend with an encyclopaedic knowledge of subjects that interested him - which were many.
