Bob joined our team at Fosroc International Technology, Bourne Road, Aston Birmingham in about 1987 and was there for all the 1990s. He came from the Mining technology part of the company and brought both a practical and theoretical wealth of knowledge on cements used for grouting and rock anchoring. He then applied this to cement based flooring, grouting , repair materials and other pre-packaged products. He was well advanced on new types of cement with shrinkage compensation, rapid set and other features producing some innovative products. Bob also had valuable links with academia and got on well with world renowned professors and experts.
Bob had the role of Technology Leader for the Fosroc product range of cementitious materials and was involved with the technology transfer and new product introduction to the Fosroc companies around the world.
Bob was always willing to share this knowledge with his colleagues and gave me much wise advice. He was always reliable, loyal, well met and good fun to be with. He willingly joined in, often with Marion, all the social events and was a great member of the team. My deepest sympathy to Marion and Will. Thank you Bob and may you rest in peace.
